AruGo

An app for the villages of Kazakhstan

A village taxi without the call

An order in a few taps. No phone call, and no message in the village group where every neighbour reads where you are going.

App Storecoming soon
Google Playcoming soon
Driver screen with an incoming order: a price of 1 800 ₸, pickup at “School No. 2” with the note “blue gate”, destination “Hospital”, a map with the route line and a “Swipe to accept” slider.

How it works

Four steps and not one phone call

  1. You open the app

It sees where you are standing by itself. There is no address to type — you can move the pin and add “the green gate”.

  2. You choose where to

From the list of places the village knows, or as a point on the map. The price appears at once and does not change after the trip.

  3. The order goes down the queue

First to the driver at the head of the queue, privately; then to everyone who is free. Only the driver who takes it sees your trip.

  4. You pay the driver

Cash or a transfer, straight to him. The money never passes through us, and there is no commission on the trip.

Two sides

One app, two different jobs

One person can be both a passenger and a driver — that is one account, not two.

Passenger

Leave without explaining the way out loud

The price is visible in advance and does not change after the trip. The driver is the same person you already know. You pay cash, just as before.

  • An order with no call and no announcement in the village group.
  • The pickup pin can be nudged with a finger and a landmark added in words.
  • Cancel at any moment, free of charge: there are no penalties or holds in the service.
Passenger screen: a map of the village with the current location pin and a “Where to?” search bar at the bottom.

Driver

Stop watching the chat all day

An order arrives as a finished card: from, to, how much. The village queue is the one you already kept among yourselves — only now you do not have to remember it.

  • The first driver in the queue gets the order privately, for 30 seconds.
  • No answer or a decline, and the order goes to everyone who is free at once.
  • No subscription and no commission on the trip: the earnings are all yours.
Driver working screen: status “On the line”, a map of the village, place in the queue — second, seven cars on the line and a “2 free orders” button.

About the service

What we actually changed in the village

Taxis already work in the village, and work well. There is nothing to break here — the pain is not how orders are shared out, but how they are taken.

Your trip stops being news for the whole village

Today, to get a ride you either call or post in the village group — and posting means telling three hundred neighbours where you are going and when.

In the app only the driver who took the order sees it; for everyone else it simply disappears from the screen. This is not anonymity — the driver will recognise you anyway, the village is small. The value is that the trip stops being a public announcement.

The village queue stayed yours

Drivers already keep a queue by spoken agreement and pass orders on when they cannot make it. We did not replace it — we just stopped requiring anyone to hold it in their head.

The order goes to the first driver in the queue privately, for 30 seconds. No answer and it goes to everyone who is free, and whoever taps first takes it. Take an order and you go to the back after the trip, while everyone else keeps their place.

A map instead of an address in words

In a village an address in words often means nothing: “by the water tower” is not clear even to every local. So there is a map in every order card — the driver sees both points without opening it.

And the pickup point can be nudged with a finger and a landmark added: “the green gate”, “opposite the pharmacy”. That is how people really give directions here.

The money goes straight to the driver

One hundred per cent of the fare goes from the passenger to the driver — in cash or by transfer to his account. The money never passes through us: the platform has no card processing and no saved cards.

There is no commission on the trip and there never will be. With a cash settlement there is nothing to withhold it from, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Plainly

What AruGo is not

This is not fine print to hide behind. It is a description of the model the whole product is built on.

We do not check drivers’ documents and we do not stage a check that does not exist. What that means for both sides is set out in full, without softening, in the Terms of use.

Connecting

Want AruGo working in your village?

Write the name of the village and district, roughly how many cars carry people there and whether they have a shared WhatsApp group. Connecting is free, and no “person in charge of the village” is needed — there is no such role in the service at all.
